Upper American River Project Recreation Improvements

In support of the Sacramento Municipal Utility District’s 50-year FERC license for the Upper American River Project, JNA Consulting provides environmental permitting and regulatory compliance services for a broad suite of recreation improvement projects within the Crystal Basin Recreation Area. These efforts are part of Sacramento Municipal Utility District’s $155 million, 20-year commitment to enhance recreation opportunities and public access around its reservoirs on the western slope of the Sierra Nevada.

JNA Consulting, as a subconsultant to Stantec, led the preparation of environmental documentation and secured necessary resource agency approvals, including:

  • U.S. Forest Service biological evaluations
  • U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service biological assessments
  • Permits for work within jurisdictional waters of the U.S. and State
  • Pre-construction biological surveys to support environmentally responsible implementation
